CEO of MARTINA MALETTI

About usMartina Mendiburu Aletti, Founder of Martina Maletti

Half Spanish half Italian, her Italian mother Amelie has always been her main inspiration, her family created Sartoria Ventura: an Italian fashion house active in the fashion industry, founded in 1815 in Milan by Domenico Ventura. Between several locations, the company had 800 employees. The owner of the company, Vittorio Alberto Montano (Martina's great-grandfather), was president of the Italian Union of Haute Couture. Among the clients, film and theater actresses, such as Clara Calamai and Isa Miranda, and members of the nobility, such as the Queen of Italy Marie-Joseph of Belgium, the princesses Colonna, Barberini and Odescalchi, or the wealthy bourgeoisie.

All this background led Martina to develop a natural passion for fashion and design, however, her approach to fashion is very different from what she had in the past, she believes in a democratic industry without giving up the importance of sustainability and artigianity. With the ambition to challenge preconceived notions of luxury, creative director Martina Maletti aims to build a brand that offers democratic pricing, sustainable sourcing, slow consumption and great design.
Among his inspirations during his creative process are: Brancusi, Joan Miró, Proenza Schouler, Saint Laurent, Jacquemus, A.W.A.K.E. MODE, Khaite, Jean Pierrot, Sebastien Zanella, Oliver Gustav, Axel Veervordt, Le Corbusier and Ricardo Bofill.

She studied International Management at the University of Navarra in Pamplona and Fashion Design at the renowned Istituto Marangoni Fashion School in Milan and took a number of fashion courses at Central Saint Martins in London. He has worked in different positions in world-renowned brands such as Burberry and Bottega Veneta (Kering Group).
